Brownback looks at illegal immigration as a Biblical issue, that we should help to feed and house the poor. I think his heart is in the right place but his thought process is clearly misguided. The Bible never advocates breaking the law to improve your economic situation...there's nothing wrong with being poor. I feel for his cause of helping those less fortunate, but instead of giving the green light to breaking the law, let's change the law and make it easier for foreigners to come here legally and work to improve their lives themselves. I think that should be the message we should send to Sen. Brownback. I think Sen. Brownback looks at illegal immigration as a Biblical issue, that we should help to feed and house the poor. So, I thought it might be helpful to some to be able to read any statements he’s put out about the current immigration bill under debate today. I can’t find anything specific to this on his <a href="http://brownback.senate.gov" rel="nofollow">official Senate website</a> (although he does have some basic statements on border security & immigration there) but I was able to find something on his Presidential campaign website.
