Patricia Lightner narrowly won the KS-03 poll with 199 votes. Daniel Gilyeat was second with 193 votes, followed by John Rysavy and Nick Jordan.
The Kansas Republican Assembly endorses candidates in all statewide races from Kansas House to US Senate to Governor during their annual convention, set for June of 2010. Members from across the state will gather to voice their choice for a conservative, Republican candidate.
Previous KRA polls for KS-04 and KS-01 can be found here.

I hope we can agree that an uncontrolled Internet poll is a weak means of guessing any real sentiment from the KS-03 district. The fact that Scherer got even seven votes, means you know that he voted for himself seven times (also, KRA, please spell the candidates names correctly, it’s “Scherer”).
I do like the Lightner has some “real world” experience in her: family, job outside of politics, etc… but she doesn’t have the political savvy or broad reach/vision to go very far. John Rysavy is a semi-unknown candidate that has some real potential. Good public speaker, good practical experience, and the people that know him have a lot of good things to say about him. Kevin Yoder? Great politician. Maybe the most electable candidate there, and certainly has some money and support behind him. A bit young, but, there have certainly been younger candidates before him that have done quite well. (“Well” being in political terms.) Lyndon Johnson was 28 in his first term as a Congressman, and we’ve seen that sometimes is the drive and ambition that counts.
Now, lets see how quickly they beat each other up and spend all their money in the primaries.
I never stated I voted for myself seven times. I merely stated I could have. I have a lot of integrity. My commewnts merely reflected how some polls (like the Olathe Republican poll) are not valid. I clearly explained how this was rigged for whatever outcome the Olathe GOP party favored. It was entirely bogus, Just like this poll.
I am doing real stuff to earn votes. What are these other congressional candidates doing today, right now to earn your vote? Me, I continue to challenge the new Court of Tax Appeals including the method of assessing real estate taxes using the comparables nonsense scheme employed in all 105 counties in Kansas. Scheduled for a four hour jury trial on April 30, 2010. That is just one of the things I am doing. I assure you there are many things I am doing concurrently to earn your vote.
How about these other yahoos? If they are still supporting the Fair Tax, don’t vote for them. For clearly, they have not read it, or fail to understand what this will do to every Kansan that has children or students from k-12 and at state colleges here in Kansas. The Fair Tax is not a fair tax.
