Steve Morris is making quite a name for himself. When he’s not writing checks to KTRM for their KKK hit pieces, he’s just falling all over himself to bestow flattery on our Democrat Governor.
“But that’s the only major disagreement we’ve had since she took office,” Mr. Morris said. “She knew she would have to work with Republicans when she came in, and she’s done pretty well doing that.”
Now, isn’t that nice and fuzzy? So, the only difference between Republican Senate President Steve Morris and Liberal Governor Sebelius is two coal plants out in western Kansas which weren’t even an issue until this past legislative session. So what about all the past sessions? What’s been stopping Morris from just becoming a Democrat? If that’s the only difference between the two, then there were apparently no differences before. Why be a Republican? Why be a Democrat? If it’s all the same, why do we even show up to vote? Why call yourself a ‘moderate’ Republican or a ‘moderate’ Democrat? There’s no difference, so stop calling yourself a Republican. You give the rest of us bad reps when you do that.

Well folks, why not get a 2-fer? Beat Sebelius and an uncertain quantity in Morris at the same time.
KRA endorsed Steve Fitzgerald needs YOUR help in Kansas Senate District 5 and he needs it NOW.
The Governor and the Dems definitely do not want Fitzgerald elected. Neither does the Republican Senate leadership because of his rock solid conservativism. He can expect virtually no finacial support at all from the Senate Leadership (the same guys who funded the KKK attacks by KTRM against Kline and Ryun) because they know that his victory will be their loss – and very likely the loss of their leadership positions.
He is in this fight all the way and has been walking the district for months. But Fitzgerald’s fund raising has been almost entirely from friends and family as the word is out that giving him support will get you on the wrong side of the Governor. Lobbyists are concerned about getting cross ways with her since she showed in the primaries her willingness to use her power to harm her enemies and she is not above using the power of the state against private businesses – a lesson not lost on many.
So, the battle is joined – the forums await while he pushes retail politics door to door in a ground war that could be decisive. He does very well on the doorsteps and at the meetings – but a lot of people are not home or at the meetings and only get his card to compare with the dozen or so his opponent will have sent on her behalf. He does extremely well in the forums but it will not matter, the media will report what they want and they want the liberal to win.
If he loses his race the Governor will get her hand-picked clone and one of the most liberal Dems in the Senate, rather than this rock solid KRA endorsee.
Please help Fitzgerald any way you can now.
