Will the real moderates please stand up?

KTRM claims that they are a group of moderate Republicans, but their actions are speaking much louder than their words these days.

The group on Friday sent out a press release claiming that former Congressman Jim Ryun and Johnson County DA Phill Kline were racists because they had at one point or time had connections with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council Action.

In order to get to this claim, the group went through many ‘connections’ including an endorsement by the group for Jim Ryun and Phill Kline speaking to a conference hosted by the group.

The claim itself is completely outrageous, not to mention the logic that was used by KTRM to arrive at their conclusions. Any common sense individual, no matter how much they may dislike Jim Ryun or Phill Kline, knows that they are anything BUT racists.

Every Kansan should be outraged that a group such as KTRM would have the gall to call on these two men to defend themselves against such baseless, outrageous attacks.

So, are true moderates in the party going to stand up and proclaim these baseless attacks to be the trash that they are? Or are they going to continue to condone this kind of behavior with their silence and large checks?

KTRM was able to spread these kind of lies with ease this election cycle thanks to numerous large contributions.

$125,000 total. These organizations must really believe in the KTRM. I wonder if they still believe in what the KTRM stands for, attacking opponents with baseless lies and calling them racists? Perhaps you should pick up the phone and ask them.

Several individual contributions were interesting as well.

I wonder if these public figures agree with the new KTRM smear agenda? They apparently agree with the KTRM enough to give them monetary donations. Will they stay quiet on the completely false accusations or will they do the proper thing and ask for the return of their contributions?
