Partial Birth Abortion Gone at Last

Today is a great day! The US Supreme Court has upheld the federal ban on partial birth abortion. This is especially welcome here in Kansas as Wichita’s Tiller continues to be a leading child killer via this gruesome procedure.

I can’t help but wonder what is happening in Tiller’s clinic today as he contemplates how he will get around this strong federal law. It makes me sick to think he may just very well get away with continuing the procedure because of his ability to buy off the Governor’s and Attorney General’s office. What good is a law if no one enforces it?

Today’s decision should re-energize the pro-life movement to elect public officials who will not only pass important pro-life laws but will have the ability to enforce them as well.

CNN was quick to point out that only 10% of abortions performed in the US are done via this procedure, and thus would have no real effect in the number of total abortions performed. This stuck me as so very odd…the argument against the ban was that it was medically necessary…an abortion in some cases couldn’t be performed any other way the court was told.

Now that the ban has been upheld, the pro-aborts are quick to say it won’t have any effect. Ahhh, the ability to change whichever the way the wind is blowing.

For me, I’ll take 10%. I give God 10% each week and I continue to be amazed at what he as been able to do with it.

I look forward to seeing what He’ll do with this 10%.

It would be nice to even hope that the federal decision would have a lot of effect on abortion, but truth is, Tiller, owning the AG and Governor, is not real concerned about the U.S. Supreme court. He will simply tear children apart inside the mother. Dangerous, yes, but still legal.
Our most serious problem is that we are no longer a nation of laws, thus laws have minimal effect.
