Source: Slattery campaign gains KDP email list

An anonymous source says this evening that their email address had been divulged by the Kansas Democratic Party to candidate Jim Slattery for use in his attempt to unseat Senator Pat Roberts this fall.

As noted previously, the Slattery campaign sent out an email criticizing Pat Roberts for his work on the Senate Intelligence Committee even though it was the Democrat majority that held up important briefing papers after the ’06 elections.

The source claims to have signed up for email updates from the KDP recently after being told there were lies being told about certain candidates. They never signed up for email alerts from any other Democratic candidate.

Soon after announcing his campaign, the Slattery campaign began sending emails to the same email address, even though the email was never registered with the campaign or on Slattery’s website. A total of three emails have been received so far, two from Slattery’s campaign manager and the last from this son on Father’s Day.

The first email, signed by Jim Slattery himself, posted a link at the bottom with Slattery’s web address with the heading, “Please Join Our Team.” The link was never used and the email was never registered, according to the email account holder. The link opens to an initial web page where the only two options are to register your email address and ZIP code or continue to the main site.

The invitation to “Join Our Team” seams to indicate that the Slattery campaign knew they were sending an unsolicited email in the hopes that they would sign up for updates. Even though they did not, the Slattery campaign has continued to send unsolicited email.

Why is the Slattery campaign getting access to email lists from the KDP but not Lee Jones? Both are Democrats and running against Pat Roberts, so why is one candidate getting preferential treatment? What is so wonderful about Jim Slattery that the KDP/Sebelius/Tiller have already named their nominee and called the primary election over before it even started?

Or did the KDP divulge the emails lists to another campaign in ’06 which in turn gave the list to the Slattery campaign? Perhaps Gov. Sebelius who asked Slattery to run even after Jones, a fellow Democrat, had already filed?

What has happened to the “big tent” KDP???
