About the
Kansas Republican
Assembly
Comprised
of
traditional Republicans, the Kansas Republican Assembly is a statewide
organization of your
friends and neighbors working within the Republican Party to build a
powerful, enduring coalition of economic and social conservatives. KRA
is a completely volunteer
organization
from top to bottom...every accomplishment of KRA has been carried out
by
volunteers.
Our
Mission
Across
America, a
battle is being waged for the heart and soul of the Republican
Party. Some seek to lead us away from the solid conservative
economic and social principles championed by Ronald Reagan.
We are determined to prevent that from happening.

Our
Role
The
KRA
unites conservatives, both economic and social whose interests range
from tax cuts, small business, and land use issues, to pro-life and
pro-family concerns to advance traditional Republican values in
Kansas. As a statewide organization, KRA will work to
coordinate the efforts of existing organizations and empower them to
make a difference within the Republican Party, much like the diverse
coalition that led Ronald Reagan to two landslide victories.
Our
Objectives
Across
America, a battle is being
waged for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. Some seek to lead
us away from the solid conservative economic and social principles
championed by Ronald Reagan. We are determined to
prevent that from happening. Comprised of traditional Republicans, the
Kansas Republican Assembly is a statewide organization of your friends
and neighbors working within the Republican Party to build a powerful,
enduring coalition of economic and social conservatives. Our objectives
include:
- Recruit,
educate,
train, and
motivate individuals to run for public office who are irrevocably
committed to uphold and fight for conservative values.
- Promote
conservatism in the tradition of the
founding fathers.
- Bring
back to the
Republican Party
those who have been disaffected by the perception that the party has
moved away from its core principles.
- Support
elected
officials in promoting
conservative Republican principles.
- Identify
and
oppose those
individuals, groups, and agendas that would, knowingly or otherwise,
bring about the loss of our freedoms and the destruction of our
republic through the violation of the Constitution and the erosion of
traditional family values or public morals.
- Inform
the public
on current issues and the
qualifications of candidates for office.
- Increase
Republican voter registration and
increase conservative Republican turnout in elections.
- Maintain
the
integrity of the
Republican Party platform based on moral and constitutional principles
and use the platform as a criterion of accountability for elected
officials and candidates.
Our
Success
KRA
has raised hundreds of thousand of dollars to support conservative
candidates for offices ranging from the precinct to the
presidency.
KRA
has hosted a major national convention of conservative Republicans,
organized six visits by presidential candidates to Kansas, and brought
in conservative leaders like Congressman Bob Barr, Phyllis Schlafly,
Gary Aldrich and Attorney General John Ashcroft. We strive to
provide opportunities for grassroots Republicans to meet their leaders
and get involved in their party.
KRA was a
major force in determining the
outcome of many local and statewide races in 2004 and 2008, including
working at
the grassroots level to gain conservative leadership in the Republican
Party and electing two conservative Republican National Committee
members a conservative State Party Chairman.
